FIFA Women’s World Cup

FIFA Women’s World Cup is an international event contested by the Federation international football association. In this event, women’s national teams take part and are members of the federation international football association.

This competition has been held after every four years since 1991. The first event was played in China in 1991. After that, the event was based on the qualifying phase, which was played over three years, 31 teams had to qualify, and the 32nd team was the host’s team.

So eight FIFA World Cup for Women’s tournaments have been played and won by 4 national teams. The USA has won it 4 times, including the current title, which was played in 2019 in France. Germany has won this title 2 times while Japan and Norway with one title each.

FIFA Women’s World Cup is played in two phases first phase, also called as qualifying phase, is held in 6 continental zones named AFC, CAF, CONCACAF, CONMEBOL, OFC, and UEFA.

And the other phase is the group stage, in which teams are divided into groups. Each group has four sections, and in this group, each team has to play 3 matches against each other.

It is also called a final tournament, and in this stage, there will be a knockout system. In a knockout tournament, in case of equal scores, the game is decided by extra time or penalty shootouts.
