El Salvador: League 1 Live Match Score Table

When did the Salvadoran League introduced?

The Liga Mayor was finally derived from the inaugural National Sports Week, organized by the Salvadoran Sports Commission in 1921. Due to overwhelming demand, the committee decided to add a football competition to the yearly Sports Week in 1924. In 1926, this competition—which included three teams from various zones competing in a double round-robin format—became the official National Football Championship. Nequepio (Central Zone), Chinameca Sporting Club (Eastern Zone), and Olímpic (Western Zone) were the first three teams to compete. This system was in place until 1930.  You can get all the live score, results, and table of Salvadoran by visiting the Score808 Salvadoran page.

Controversy

Excélsior F.C., representing the western zone, protested over the official’s decision to register the second leg of the final match against Hércules following the 1929–30 championship, claiming it had given Hércules an unfair advantage. The outcome stayed the same, not with standing the Sports Commission’s disagreement. Excélsior withdrew from the competition, and Hércules emerged victorious. Western teams were accused of corruption and refused to compete in championships afterward. The national playoffs were not held until 1937.

National Championship Returning

In 1937, the national championship resumed its previous structure; nevertheless, it was short-lived due to teams’ accusations of corruption. As a result, there were no national titles in 1939 or 1941. Regional titles eventually gained legitimacy as national championships despite this.

Creation of Salvadoran league Format

The Salvadoran Football Federation unsuccessfully attempted to set up a league-style National Championship in 1947, which was halted after a few rounds. Although more successful than the previous season, it was again postponed in 1949. Though there were some organizational issues initially, the new structure proved successful during the 1950 championship and the following years.
