Sixty-three years ago, in 1963, the Kenyan Premier League (KPL), often called the FKF Premier League, was established. In the Kenyan Premier League, 18 Kenyan National Super League clubs competed.

KPL sponsors include the Star Times channel. Players from the Kenyan National Super League are promoted to and demoted from the Kenyan Premier League.

FKF Cup, Super Cup, and Top 8 Cup are the national Cups for the Kenyan Premier Leagues. CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup are the two international Cups available to Kenyan Premier League (KPL) teams.

With 20 titles, Gor Mahia is the most successful KPL team for the 2022–2023 season if we talk about the league’s current champions.
